Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 October 2026.

These terms set out what Ultrathlete is, what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. We’ve written them to be read: plainly, and only what matters.

About these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and Ultrathlete Srl (“Ultrathlete”, “we”), Frazione Champlan Dessous 14/A, 11020 Gressan (AO), Italy, for the use of Ultrathlete: the app on the web and on your phone, your AI coach and everything in them. Our full company details are in the legal notice.

You accept them when you create your account. How we handle your data is in our Privacy Policy, which you should read too: it is information, not part of what you agree to here, and the consents it describes are asked for separately.

What Ultrathlete is

Ultrathlete is an AI coach for ultra-distance athletes. It plans your training and adapts it, reads the sessions you record, writes you notes and talks your training through with you in a chat.

Your coach is an artificial intelligence. A large language model writes its plans and messages, following coaching rules written by experienced coaches. Every message it writes is labelled “AI coach”. It can be wrong: it can misread a session, miss something you told it or suggest something that doesn’t suit you. Check what doesn’t look right, and tell it.

Ultrathlete opens by invitation during its first months, and some features may arrive later or change as we build it (section “Changes to the service”).

Your health and your training

  • Not medical advice. Ultrathlete is not a medical device and your coach is not a doctor, a physiotherapist or a dietitian. Nothing it says diagnoses, treats or prevents any condition, and its fuelling and hydration figures are training guidance, not a diet.
  • See a doctor first if you have, or might have, a heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes, an injury, a condition that affects your training or eating, or if you are pregnant, and whenever you are unsure whether you are fit to train or race. Tell your coach about anything that limits you.
  • Your decisions are yours. Whether, how and how hard you train or race is always your decision. Stop and get help if you feel pain, dizziness, chest pain, unusual breathlessness or anything that worries you, whatever the plan says. Ultrathlete is not for emergencies: call your local emergency number.
  • Ultra-distance training and racing have risks of their own: injury, exhaustion, heat, cold, altitude, mountain terrain, weather and traffic. Your coach plans the training, not the conditions you train in: choose routes, gear and conditions you are ready for, and follow the rules of the races you enter.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to use Ultrathlete, and you confirm it when you create your account.
  • An account is for one person. Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself and tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account.
  • An invitation code is for the person it was given to; each person gets one free period.
  • You’re responsible for what happens in your account, unless it happens because of something we did wrong.

Memberships and payment

Coaching needs a membership. Each membership, what it includes and its price are shown before you buy; prices include VAT where it applies.

  • Renewal. A membership is paid monthly in advance and renews automatically each month until you cancel it.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time, in Settings or, if you bought it through the App Store, in your Apple account’s subscriptions. You keep your membership until the end of the month already paid; it is not renewed after that.
  • A free period. A new membership starts with free days — the number shown when you sign up, or your invitation code’s. They cost nothing and need no card. We tell you in the app and by email before they end; when they end, the coaching stops until you start a paid membership, and everything else in your account stays. Each person gets one free period.
  • AI usage. Each membership includes a monthly amount of coaching by the AI, enough for regular use. If you reach it, the chat pauses until the date shown in the app or until you move to a membership that includes more; your plan, your sessions and everything else keep working. The app tells you before you reach it.
  • Price changes. We tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your membership. It applies from the next renewal after that, and you can cancel before it does.
  • Payments on the web are processed by Stripe; in the iPhone app, by Apple, whose terms apply to the payment, its billing and its refunds. You hold one membership at a time, bought in one place.

Your right of withdrawal

If you live in the European Union, you can withdraw from your membership within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day the contract is made: the day you start a paid membership.

To withdraw, tell us before the 14 days end, in any clear statement: an email to hello@ultrathlete.ai or a letter to the address above. You can use the model form below, but you don’t have to. We confirm by email, and we stop the membership’s renewal ourselves.

We refund what you paid within 14 days of your withdrawal, to the means of payment you used. If, when you bought, you asked for coaching to start straight away, we keep the part for the days you were coached until you withdrew. A free period costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund. For a membership bought through the App Store, Apple handles refunds: ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data and what you share

  • What you put into Ultrathlete stays yours: your recordings, your messages, the files you upload and what you tell your coach. You allow us to store, process and show it, and to send your sessions to the devices you choose, only to run the service for you, as the Privacy Policy describes. That permission ends when you delete it or your account.
  • We never use your data or your conversations to train AI models, ours or anyone else’s.
  • Upload only your own recordings and information, and nothing you don’t have the right to share.
  • If you send us product feedback or ideas, we may use them freely, without owing you anything for them.

Using Ultrathlete fairly

Don’t:

  • share your account, resell access to it or let others use your coach;
  • copy, reverse engineer or take apart the app or its coaching, or scrape it or access it with bots or scripts;
  • get round the usage limits, the invitations or any security measure, or put an unreasonable load on the service;
  • try to make your coach produce harmful, unlawful or abusive content, or use its output to build a competing service or to train an AI model;
  • upload malicious code or someone else’s data, or use Ultrathlete for anything unlawful.

We watch for misuse and may restrict an account that breaks these rules (section “Ending your account”). To report abuse, or a message from your coach that seems harmful, use “Send feedback” in the app or write to hello@ultrathlete.ai.

Garmin and other connected services

You can connect Garmin Connect, and other watches and platforms through our provider Terra, to bring in your recordings and, if you choose, send your planned sessions to them. Their own terms apply to your accounts with them. We can’t control those services: if one changes, stops working or ends its access, the connection may stop too.

About Garmin, in particular:

  • Garmin is not a party to these terms and doesn’t endorse Ultrathlete.
  • Garmin provides its data and services to us “as is”, without any warranty to you, including that they are accurate, complete, available or fit for your purpose. Don’t rely on them, or on Ultrathlete, where safety or life may be at stake.
  • To the fullest extent the law allows, Garmin and its affiliates, officers, employees, licensors and partners are not liable to you for any loss or damage arising from your use of Ultrathlete or of Garmin data and features through it, and you waive any such claim against them. Garmin may rely on this section.
  • Don’t send sessions to your Garmin Connect account if you are not allowed to upload data there.

What belongs to us

The app, its design, the coaching methodology, our name and logo belong to us or to those who license them to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Ultrathlete for your own training while you have an account, and the plans and messages your coach writes you are yours to use for that. Other brands named in the app, such as Garmin, belong to their owners.

Changes to the service

We keep improving Ultrathlete, so features change. We work to keep it available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance or by problems we don’t control. If we change it in a way that substantially reduces what your paid membership includes, we tell you in advance, and you can cancel and get back what you paid for the time you no longer use.

You have the legal guarantee of conformity for digital services: if Ultrathlete doesn’t work as described, tell us and we will fix it, or reduce the price or refund you where the law says so.

Ending your account

  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your data is then erased as the Privacy Policy says. Deleting it cancels a membership bought on the web; one bought through the App Store must also be cancelled in your Apple account, which we can’t do for you.
  • We may suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, unlawful use, a risk to others or to the service, or unpaid fees. We tell you why first, unless the law or safety prevents it, and give you a chance to put it right where that is possible.
  • We may stop offering Ultrathlete altogether with at least 30 days’ notice, time to download your data, and a refund of what you paid for the time after it ends. If we close your account for a reason that isn’t your fault, we refund the same.

Our responsibility

We provide Ultrathlete with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss you suffer because we broke these terms or were negligent, when the loss was foreseeable. We are not responsible for loss caused by your own decisions about your training and racing, by information you didn’t give us or gave wrongly, by services we don’t run (such as Garmin or your device), or by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any right you have as a consumer that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.

Law and disputes

Italian law governs these terms. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.

If something goes wrong, write to us first at hello@ultrathlete.ai (for anything about your data, privacy@ultrathlete.ai): most things are solved faster that way.

If you use the iPhone app

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content, its maintenance and support, and for any claim about it: that it doesn’t work as it should, doesn’t meet a legal or regulatory requirement, breaches consumer protection law or infringes someone else’s rights.
  • You may use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple’s Usage Rules allow. If it fails to meet a warranty, you can tell Apple, which will refund the app’s price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation for it.
  • You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo and not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You also follow the terms of the other services you use with the app, such as your mobile network.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries may rely on these terms and enforce them against you as third-party beneficiaries.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. For a change that matters to you, we tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before it applies and ask you to accept the new terms. If you don’t, you can close your account before then and get back what you paid for the time after it.

The rest

  • These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about Ultrathlete.
  • If a court finds part of them invalid, the rest still applies.
  • If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • You may not transfer your account or these terms. We may transfer them to a company that takes over Ultrathlete, under the same terms, and we tell you if we do.
  • The English text governs; a translation is a courtesy.
